Page 1 - TARYN'S SHIP

Commentary by Shane Felux
The concept design origin and creation of Taryn's ship came from a Star Wars ship design concept for a video game I saw. We wanted to create a sleek and fast personal fighter craft that had the power and teeth to get the job done.
The concept sketch came from myself (who can't draw very well) and had some of the features of the Naboo fighter modified with more speed and guns. I wanted to create a ship that matched Taryn's persona -- a very maneuverable, well-armed class ship that had the dark appeal of her character.
The CG team, in this case Mark Wood, then took the rough concept sketch and did a basic CG drawing for approval.
Basic maps and structure were applied. Then with a further render, more ideas, and my go-ahead, Mark was able to start developing the ship deeper.
